چکیده

Abstract Background The role of viruses as a cause breast cancer (BC) has been significantly investigated in recent years. Human papillomavirus (HPV) detected invasive carcinomas, while most studies have only focused on the detection viral DNA, we aimed to examine prevalence and genotypes HPV among Iranian BC patients. We also examined presence herpes simplex-1 (HSV-1), simplex-2 (HSV-2), varicella zoster virus (VZV), cytomegalovirus (CMV) these samples. Methods collected analyzed 70 Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) blocks including 59 samples, 11 benign lesions control from patients using nested PCR. Real-time PCR utilized confirming test findings. Genotyping positive samples was performed, were subjected multiplex detect HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV, CMV BC. Results Papillomavirus DNA present 7 (11.8%); none prevalent type HPV18, followed by 6. All had high tumor grades (II/ III) with histologic diagnosis ductal carcinoma. patient age range 33 73 years median 51 Most low levels education. HPV16 not detected. Also, 5 specimens (8.47%), for HSV-1. But CMV. Conclusions Our results suggest carcinogenesis High-risk (HPV18) tumors. findings HSV-1 low-risk (HPV6) BCs may propose cancer-causing them. Further large-scale are warranted assess significance our

[Detection of herpes simplex virus, varicella zoster virus and cytomegalovirus in aphthous stomatitis].

Attempts were made to demonstrate herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 and type 2, varicella zoster virus (VZV) and cytomegalovirus (CMV) in specimens obtained from aphthous ulceration lesions by the immunofluorescent method using fluorescein-labeled monoclonal antibodies. HSV-1 and VZV were detected in 2 and 4 out of 30 patients, respectively. Although almost all viruses that can infect the oral ...

Prevalence of Herpes Simplex Virus type-1, 2 and Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) in Eye Infection

Abstract Background and Aims: Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a common cause of corneal disease and is the leading infectious cause of corneal blindness among developed nations. This study is aimed to provide an estimation of the incidence of Herpes Simplex Virustype-1, 2(HSV1, 2) and Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) in tears and swab from eye infection by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in eye ...

[Herpes simplex and varicella zoster virus infections].

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV) are both human alpha-herpes viruses. They are capable of establishing latent infections in neural tissues and to reactive from these sites, determining the clinical features of the disease (primary infection versus recurrences). Infections with these viruses are common; an increased number of elderly and immunocompromised individuals w...

Varicella zoster and herpes simplex virus infections.

There are six herpes viruses, three of which, the varicella-zoster virus and the herpes simplex viruses types 1 and 2, are of particular concern to patients and staff in critical care units. These viruses, especially in their reactivated states, may present atypically in critically ill and immune-suppressed patients, and, by the time the diagnosis is made, exposures of other patients and clinic...

Demonstration of Herpes Simplex Virus, Cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr Virus in Colorectal Cancer

Background: The present study sought to investigate molecular evidence for association between the presence of herpes simplex virus (HSV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in CRC and colorectal polyp by using the PCR method in Iran. Methods: In this analytical case-control study, we selected 15 patients with CRC, 20 patients with colorectal polyp, and 35 patients without mali...
